Compensation Structure

The compensation structure of financial services professionals or a financial services company depends on the type of business model that they operate under.

The business model that we have embraced is called a hybrid model or a dually-registered model. This business model means that we can receive compensation as a fee or as a sales concession.

Before making the decision to hire a financial professional or implement a recommended strategy, it is important to understand how that financial professional receives their compensation.

Investment Advisory Fee

An investment advisory fee is an annual fee deducted from a clients account. At Fortitude Private Wealth, this fee is calculated based upon the client’s total assets under advisement. This fee ranges between 0.50% to 1.50% of total assets under advisement.

Wealth Management Fee

A wealth management fee is an annual fee that is determined by a client’s total liquid net worth. Unlike some of our competition, we only include liquid assets in this calculation. This fee ranges from .20% to .40% of a client’s total liquid net worth depending on the meeting frequency that the client selects. There is a minimum annual fee of $2,000 per year.

Advisory fees are in addition to the internal expenses charged by an investment company, and if you hold such a security, these should be included when evaluating the costs of a fee-based account. Clients should periodically re-evaluate whether a fee-based account continues to be appropriate for their needs compared to other alternatives. A list of additional considerations, as well as the fee schedule, is available in the firm’s Form ADV Part 2A as well as the client agreement.
